Our client is a well-known and highly regarded tourism marketing agency, primarily representing international tourism boards in Australia and New Zealand. The agency promotes their destinations in market, with the objective to drive maximum tourism revenue from Australia and NZ to their travel destinations.

 

Primarily the agency’s marketing aims are:

  1. To drive awareness, inspiration and engagement for their client destinations and products
  2. To develop distribution of their tourism product through Australia and NZ travel industry
  3. To train the travel industry to equip them to sell destinations
  4. To partner with the travel industry to drive conversion

Having weathered the massive downturn in travel caused by the COVID pandemic, they are rapidly rebuilding their team and revenue.

While their traditional service offerings remain, post-COVID impacts are revolutionising some of the solutions they are providing to their clients.

 

This is an exciting time of learning and evolution for the agency as they develop a more crystalised, analytical, data-led view of outcomes and success.

 

 

The Role

In this time of rapid growth and evolution for the agency, it is in need of an organised, systematic thinker to review, modernise /update and regalvanise systems and processes, to recognise opportunities for improvement, pro-actively seek out efficiencies and ensure adoption across the team.

 

Reporting to the Managing Director, the HR and Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring the company operates like a well-oiled machine.

 

To be a success, the HR and Operations Manager must be skilled in sensitively influencing and collaborating with the team for the end result of improving the business and ensuring first-rate service delivery.

 

The agency also stages around 30 promotional and educational events per annum, across all Australian States and NZ. The HR and Operations Manager is responsible for creating and continuously improving processes around event management as well as driving the successful planning and administration of some of these.   

 

 

 

Selection Criteria

We are looking for people with the following backgrounds:

  • Experience in a similar role within a similar sized company
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task
  • Experience managing the HR process and tasks associated with recruitment
  • An aptitude for driving, continually improving, and systematising processes and having them successfully adhered to
  • Ability to work autonomously, juggle tasks, meet deadlines and prioritise a high-volume workload
  • A strategic thinker and keen problem solver who can take initiative and is happy to ‘get their hands dirty’
  • Is ethical and responsible
  • Light hearted, fun to be around, yet highly focussed on getting things done with and through people.

It would be also be advantageous to:

  • have had advertising agency Traffic Management experience
    and
  • to have experience in Event Management
